the road for the cure
Marck 1:40-42
The text of Marks' book speaks about a leper that approaches Jesus and he makes an observation very it finds strange. He didn't play in Jesus' garments, he didn't ask to be cured, he didn't implore for Jesus' compassion. In a very strange way he says for the Master: "if you want you can get well. A lot of times we read sentences as these and we didn't get to reach the dimension of what is being said there. With these verses we learned some things:
1. V.40—“A leper came”. It demonstrates desire, will of changing the situation, but it also demonstrates action. A lot of people don't receive the cure because they don't act, they stay the whole time in the phase of the desire. If you want to receive a blessing or cure of God you need to act. God is hoping you make some thing, give the first step.
2. V.40—“He knelt down before erases and he begged that cured him: if the Lord he wants can get well.”. Knelt down – humiliation sign, through his humiliation the leper recognized Jesus' sovereignty. He begged – recognition that Jesus could change his situation. Mathew 8:2 say that the leper adored Jesus, that is, didn't wait Jesus saw him. Luke 5:12 declare that he was full of leprosy. It doesn't import him as you are taken by your problem, the as for your life it is turned inside out, too big problem doesn't exist for God. Few miracles consist in more than a Gospel and this belongs one to them, this because God wants to do to understand each other a very special thing. When the man wants to be cured, he acts, it recognizes the sovereignty of God, he adores God, he humbles before erases and he declares to God that needs, he moves the heart of God. The word declares that God doesn't resist a smashed heart. Have faith!
3. V.41—“And Jesus, taken by the compassion, played him”. God is not strange to your suffering, he doesn't sleep nor it ignores you, you are important for God.
Here, we can see:
1. Jesus extends the hand – Jesus approached him, a thing that nobody did with a leper.
2. Jesus play in the leper – This is another thing that a Jew would never do, to play in a leper, this would turn him impure, however Jesus didn't care with this.
3. Jesus talk to the leper – Know that whenever you to shout for the help of God, He will answer you. God won't abandon you how they make the men, He cares.
We see through this text wonderful lessons, the main of them is to notice that God doesn't stop hearing us, that Jesus feels the compassion of us when we suffered and He was sent by God to relieve our suffering.
It was for this that Jesus told the leper: "Yes I want, be cured!"
4. V.42—“Immediately the leprosy disappeared, the man was cured”. When Jesus feels the man's compassion and he plays is it like this that the things happen. Immediately we see the cure happen and the power of God to show.
I just want a thing that is not of easy perception in the leper's attitude to highlight. When he approaches Jesus he kneels down and he says: "If the Lord he wants." A lot of times we didn't understand this, but here the leper is declaring to total sovereignty of Jesus on all of the things. God blesses us, Him in the owner, but we needed to understand that God is not a genius of the lamp that is there just to assist our more selfish desires. God wants to bless you, but while you don't recognize to total sovereignty it erases in his problem this won't change.
God wants to bless you, declare to Him than you want to be cured. Only God has power to change your situation. Only He can all of the things.
See you!
