The Apostle Peter invites us to live a holy and blameless life in absolutely everything that we do. God is holy and the only thing that is expected from each one that purports to say that serving God is that this person is also holy. After knowing the Jesus we no longer have the right to live the same way as other people. As hard as it is to hear about it, this is something that we have no choice. Or am I willing to live a holy life in my way of living or I'm not really willing to go to heaven. To be holy is not an option, but a command. I can only say that I am closer to God if I present my life always holy and righteous before God and men. I have no right to deceive; I have the right to take what does not belong to me; I have no right to be with a woman other than my wife. If God is holy I must also be holy. There is no middle ground. There is no other possibility.
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:15,16

UNTIL WHEN
Until when we follow up walking in circles in desert without getting nowhere? Until when our trust in God will be so small? Until when? God has operated great miracles and with a strong hand, took the people of Israel from Egypt, liberated that nation who lived enslaved for over 400 years. But they're not trusted that God would be powerful enough to fulfill his promise to give them possession of the promised land. By not relying on the fulfillment of the promise, they walked in turning the desert. During forty years didn't do another thing that wasn't spin round and round. Because of the lack of trust in God, all that generation died in the desert. Many times we don't trust God; even though many miracles have happened in our lives, we also. We also do not believe that a problem will be solved or that healing will come; the wedding will be restored, the son finally abandon the drugs, or even that we will be sustained despite the unemployment. Until when will follow without having full consciousness that we serve a God who is all-powerful? Until when we will think that there is something impossible for our God? No matter the size of the problem, God is able to grant us victory. Until when we will try to solve the problems of our lives entrusted to only in our own capacity? Evenwhen we shout for help while we follow thinking that there is no one who can help? Until when? Until when? Soon Jesus will return! I'll offer you voluntarily sacrifices; I will praise thy name, O Lord, it is good; It has redeemed me from all trouble: and my eyes saw my desire upon mine enemies. Psalms 54: 6-7 In my morning walk by the book of Psalms have delighted me with the personality of David that is shown in small verses there. In Psalm 54 we see a David that aims to defeat and utter ruin of his enemies. The Psalm ends with him saying that his eyes fill to see the defeat of their enemies. A David vindictive, but honest to God. ------------------------------ Incline, O God, thy ear unto my prayer, and hide not thyself from my supplication. Hear me, hear me; I regret in my complaint, and make noise... Psalms 55: 1-2 In Psalm 55 we see a David that exposes before God their need to be heard. When David says "Hear me" he's saying, God, watch! David cries asking the Lord to help him in the midst of his suffering, through the betrayal suffered with his friend Ahithophel and his son Absalom. ------------------------------ When I cry unto thee, then turn back my enemies: this I know, because God is for me. Psalms 56: 9 In Psalm 56 could already see a conscious that David, the one who calls the Lord is heard and when the Lord heard the prayer of a servant, enemies no longer disturb, there is peace and tranquility, even amid struggles. ------------------------------ Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for my soul trusts in You; and the shadow of your wings I take refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me. Psalms 57: 1-2 In Psalm 57, David is being persecuted again, but this time by King Saul and his entire army. The army of a king chasing one man, but a man who fully trust in the help of God. This is the image I see in this Psalm. David fully trust in the Lord's help, so he only praises and extols the name of God in this Psalm, although know that your soul is among lions armed with spears, arrows and sharp blades. ------------------------------ I will praise thee, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; and let your glory be over all the earth. Psalms 57: 9-11 Oh how good it is to be aware of the help and mercy of the Lord! If we keep our eyes on God, we will never be shaken and if we are, God Himself will raise us up and put us standing again because he is a God who works on behalf of those who trust in him. Trust, then, in the Almighty, because their eyes are on you. In God {is} my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, {and} my refuge, {is} in God. Salmos 62:7 The word for Today is TRUST. Psalm 62 is a psalm where all the trust and hope of the psalmist are put in God. In this psalm God is the God who saves, is the rock, is the defense, is a source of hope is strength, is refuge, is powerful and God is a God of mercy. How much the psalmist saw in God, but because he saw cultivated a close relationship with the Father, only so closely, we can see all that God is. The farther you are from God, the less you will see it. It is said that a child asked his father to tell you the size of God. Then the father showed his son a plane flying over the sky of the city. The son was sad and said that God was very small. Then the father took his son took and showed him that same aircraft on the ground, and the son said, our father, as God is great. That's when the father explained: The closer you are to God, the more it will be in your eyes, not because God grow in size, but because their view of him grow. I highlight here the verse 7, in which the psalmist says that God is his salvation and his glory. Even as a king, David can recognize that the glory he had not come of itself or of its victories, but came from God. For taking all the honor and glory to God, he cultivated a close relationship and could see up close all that God was, and what he saw, he knew he could put all their confidence in God so wonderful. Follow trusting, always. Surely you will not be embarrassed. |
